๐ฆ๐บ Important notice for students travelling to Australia: โ๏ธ border reopening and ๐ vaccinations
TL;DR (too long; didn't read) summary: official channels (namely, Australian government run or government endorsed websites and information outlets) are the only authoritative news sources you should rely on.
Due to some hastily put together news articles posted by certain social media outlets in Nepal, we have been getting many confused queries from students who hold Australian student visas or want to go to Australia for higher studies.
Please note that an important component of being allowed to re-enter Australia is vaccinations and negative PCR report. Specifically, to be eligible to enter Australia, students must:
๐ Be fully vaccinated with a completed dosage of a vaccine approved or recognised by Australiaโs Therapeutic Goods Administration
๐Hold a valid visa for one of the eligible visa subclasses
๐Provide proof of their vaccination status
๐Present a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days before departure.
The list of vaccination varieties approved or recognised by Australiaโs Therapeutic Goods Administration is as follows:
โ
Comirnaty (Pfizer)
โ
Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca)
โ
Covishield (AstraZeneca)
โ
Spikevax (Moderna)
โ
Janssen-Cilag (Johnson & Johnson)
โ
Coronavac (Sinovac)
โ
BBIBP-CorV (Sinopharm) (for 18-60 years old)
โ
Covaxin (Bharat Biotech)
โ ๏ธ We request all students and their parents to read carefully through these Australian government run sources:
Approved and recognised COVID-19 vaccinations โ
